About Lannie Cox, M.A., LPC-S
Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor
Serving Cypress, TX and the greater Houston area
My Background & Experience
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from West Texas A&M University, and I’ve been working with clients since 2017. I hold the LPC-S designation, meaning I meet the qualifications to supervise other counselors in their professional journey.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years working in corporate communications and public relations, as well as several years in Christian ministry. These roles taught me how to listen deeply, lead with empathy, and support people through complex life experiences.
A Little More About Me
I’m a husband, a father, and a lifelong learner. I work alongside an amazing team at Cy-Hope Counseling and offer both in-person sessions in Cypress and virtual sessions for clients across Texas.
When I’m not in session, you can find me spending time with my family, working with my guide dog Spencer, or enjoying a good conversation over coffee.
Finding Solutions That Start From Within
Hi, I’m Lannie Cox, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who believes in the power of encouragement, practical tools, and real conversations. My goal is simple: to help you find what’s already working, and build from there.
I work with adults, teens, couples, and families to navigate life’s toughest moments; whether that’s stress, disconnection, transitions, or feeling stuck. I approach therapy as a collaborative space where your strengths are seen, and solutions are discovered together.
My Counseling Approach
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, I tailor therapy to your goals using a blend of evidence-based approaches, including:
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Family Systems Theory
Gottman Method (for couples)
Adlerian Therapy
Christian Counseling (available upon request)
No matter the method, my approach is always strengths-based, practical, and collaborative. We’ll work together to identify patterns, shift perspectives, and help you move forward with clarity.
Let’s Work Together
I believe therapy should be a place where you feel seen, heard, and supported—without pressure or judgment. If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d be honored to work with you.
